The positively twisted cutting edges (upcut) on the end face of the Solid Carbide end mills - cutting edges push the chips upwards during milling, i.e. against the underside of the workpiece. This prevents chipping at the bottom edge of the workpiece.

The negatively twisted cutting edges (downcut) on the shank side of the Solid Carbide end mills - cutting edges press downwards during milling, i.e. against the upper side of the workpiece. This prevents break-outs at the upper edge of the workpiece.

The end face of this milling cutter is designed with a plunging facility and is well suited for drilling in, circular plunging and ramping.
