Profile grinding of moulder knives and profile knives:

When profile grinding the profiled knives, the profile is reground directly. The knives are clamped in an original cutter head matching the knives and sharpen on a CNC tool grinding machine using the CBN deep grinding process. At high coolant pressure with special grinding oil as cooling lubricant, any heating of the knives during grinding is prevented. This ensures long tool life. A loss of quality, as it occurred earlier during conventional grinding with ceramic grinding wheels, can thus be ruled out. The profiled chip limiters are repositioned in the same operation. Depending on wear and profile shape, moulder knives can often be reground many times until the knives have become too small. The frequency of regrinding is limited only by the knife size.

Re-grinding the chip limiters:

The profile knives for the universal cutter head always include two profiled chip limiters. These have a prescribed height distance to the profiled knives. Since this distance changes due to the sharpening of the knives, the chip limiters should always be adjusted by the same amount. Otherwise a faultless function of the universal cutter head is not guaranteed.

No costs for design or templates:

At pwwu24.de there are usually no costs for design or templates. The tools are measured exactly on a measuring machine and sharpened according to these measuring data. If the wear should be so large that the profile is no longer clear and exactly comprehensible, then send us your dimensioned sketch or drawing by e-mail or fax. You can also send us a wood sample or a drawing by post with your profile knives.

Your tools will be sharpened at PWWU Präzisionswerkzeuge Wurzen by trained precision tool mechanics on a CNC machining center under oil cooling. After sharpening, the tools usually have new tool quality again.
