Cutting edge breakouts on core drill bits:

For chipping, the calculation is based on the amount of work required. For the sharpening price it does not matter whether the core drill is made of HS, HSS or carbide tipped. If carbide cutting edges of the carbide - tipped core drill are broken off, they can be partially soldered in again. However, this only makes sense if there are one or two cutting edges and the core drill is not yet too worn out. If even more cutting edges are affected by the "tooth loss", the purchase of a new core drill is often the better alternative.

Even with core drills made of HSS, it is possible that entire cutting edges or larger cutting areas will break out. If the basic body of the drill is not torn, the damaged cutting edge can be cut off flat and the cutting edges are completely re-sharpened by the sharpening service. This is not at all as expensive as it sounds, we would be pleased to make you an offer.
