The solid carbide lock-case cutter with rough cutting edges is used to create the pockets for lock installation in the door leaf, the so-called lock-case. The lock-case is also suitable for milling deep grooves for other applications. Due to the rough toothing, the milling cutter works much more easily than a finishing cutter. This means that milling can be carried out at a significantly higher feed rate and feed rate per stroke.

Solid carbide lock-case milling cutter for max. 0.3 mm roughness on the machined surface in clockwise rotation, chip ejection upwards.

For milling out deep pockets in solid wood and board materials and plastics. Use in chucks or adapters on milling machines and CNC machines.

The working length marked AL in the illustration is the maximum milling depth that a lock-case milling cutter can mill in one pass.

The maximum milling depth is marked with l in the figure. This is the maximum groove depth that can be milled with this tool.

The lock-case cutter only has cutting edges in the area marked AL. Between this cutting edge area and the shank there is a round ground undercut. This area is designed in such a way that the chips are optimally transported upwards.
