Operating conditions for Carbide grades P30 and P30S:

The carbide grades P30 and P30S are used for turning steel, cast steel and long-chipping malleable cast iron at medium to low cutting speeds. (The cutting speeds can be about 50% lower than when using K10.) This carbide grade can be used with feeds of up to 2.5 mm / revolution, even under unfavourable conditions. This means when used in uneven materials. These can be, for example, cast and forged crusts. Materials with varying hardness are also included. However, this type of carbide is also suitable for use with varying cutting depths, interrupted cuts and for work that is not vibration-free. This carbide grade can also be used for milling, planing and drilling steel, cast steel and long-chipping malleable cast iron.

Operating conditions for Carbide grades P40 and P40S:

The carbide grades P40 and P40S are suitable for turning steel and cast steel, also with sand inclusions and blowholes, at low cutting speeds. (The cutting speeds can therefore be about 60% - 70% lower than when using K10.) Can be used with feeds of up to 3mm/rev and large chip cross sections, especially under unfavourable conditions. This can mainly be caused by uneven material: e.g. cast and forged crust, varying hardness, varying cutting depths, interrupted cuts, not vibration-free working, etc. Large rake angles can be achieved with this carbide grade. It can also be used for planing and shaping steel and cast steel, especially for heavy cuts. P40 is also suitable for use in older planing machines and partly also for automatic work, with boring bar, boring head or milling head.

Operating conditions for the carbide grades P50 and P50S:

Carbide grades P50 and P50S are suitable for turning steel and cast steel, also with sand inclusions and blowholes, at low cutting speeds. The cutting speeds can therefore be about 70% - 75% lower than when turning with K10. Can be used with feeds of up to 4mm/rev and large chip cross sections. Particularly suitable for the most difficult cutting conditions. This can mainly be caused by uneven material: e.g. cast and forged crust, changing hardness, changing cutting depths, interrupted cuts, not vibration-free working, etc. Large rake angles can be achieved with this extremely tough carbide grade. It is also suitable for use on older lathes and for automatic work with boring bar, boring head or milling head. In addition, it can be used for planing and butting steel and cast steel even under the most difficult cutting conditions.
